Vegan DIY Pumpkin Scrub Recipe Just in Time for Halloween!

Halloween is just around the corner and fall is in full swing – This Means Pumpkins!  Pumpkins for carving, pumpkins for eating, and pumpkins for beauty.

Yep – that’s right – organic pumpkin is a fantastic beauty booster!

Pumpkins are filled with the anti oxidant Beta Carotine (or Vitamin A).  This is what gives pumpkins their rich orange color and what makes them perfect for reducing free radicals and protecting the skin from the sun.

These Halloween gourds also offer us Vitamin C, another antioxidant, as well as zinc for major anti bacterial, anti fungal, and anti inflammatory properties.

Ready to get some pumpkins into your beauty routine?  Us too!  That’s why we created this vegan DIY pumpkin scrub recipe just in time for Halloween – so you won’t scare anyone unless you want too!

This DIY recipe is great for helping remove that Halloween makeup too; and soothing your skin after using that gunk (seriously, be careful, Halloween make up is notoriously nasty stuff).

Also, while you may have seen other pumpkin DIY beauty recipes out there, ours is vegan No yogurt, no milk, no honey, No Animal Products of Any Kind – yet still super effective!

Before we get started a few notes

Be sure to use a fresh, organic pumpkin to gain the maximum benefit from this DIY beauty recipe.  To make your own pumpkin puree simply cut the pumpkin into pieces, remove pulp and seeds, then steam until soft.  Cool the pumpkin chunks, scoop the meat out of the skin, mash up, and you have homemade organic pumpkin puree.

Also – don’t forget to save the seeds – they make a beneficial beauty snack! Just eat raw or, roast lightly for a tasty treat on salads, as a breading for veggies, a fab addition to trail mix, or all by themselves.
