Moroccon Argan Oil Is AMAZING – But Only If Its Pure and Organic!

Organic Argan Tree with Fruit used to make Argan OilArgan oil has become a very popular beauty ingredient recently in the western world.  Its been used in Morocco, the Argan tree’s native region, for generations though.

Understandably so!  Argan oil is simply filled with impressive ingredients including essential fatty acids, carotenes, vitaman E, phenols, squalene, and phenolic acid.  Not only that, this natural oil is thinner and lighter than other vegetable oils so it absorbs quickly and without feeling greasy at all.

Moroccon Argan oil is great for any skin type and has properties to help give skin a smoother appearance, balance oil production, increase elasticity, reduce inflammation, and fight free radicals.  Its great for hair too and can smooth frizzies, restore dried split ends and protect hair from sun damage.

With qualities like these coupled with the fact that the Argan tree only grows in a small zone of the world, Argan oil is one of the rarest essential oils in the world!

As a result, like most rare items, pure, organic Argan Oil is quite expensive.  Many companies have decided to try and get around that though.

They offer really low prices but, unfortunately, most of the commercial Argan oils available are often formulated with cheaper oils, toxic preservatives, synthetic fragrances, and we’ve even found some that included dimethicone and other silicones in order to  “cut” or stretch the Argan oil and thereby lower the cost.

Now, I’m all for affordable but not at the expense of quality.  When these extra ingredients are added to the Argan oil they actually work to negate its natural qualities and can further dehydrate your skin and hair instead of feed and moisturize it.  Not to mention some of these “extra” ingredients are known toxins and take a product that started as a gift from a miraculous plant and turn it into something that when used could actually cause issues as opposed to cure them.   At this point too, after the additives have been introduced, the argan oil is not really an oil at all anymore, it’s technically considered a serum, which is quite different in effect than a pure oil.

In order to protect yourself and enjoy all the major benefits of the real McCoy – be sure to get only Pure, Organic Argan oil!  You can verify purity by  texture and aroma; natural Argan Nut Oil has a faint nutty aroma.  Also, look for natural beauty products that use certified organic Argan oil so you can be sure these formulations aren’t based on an impure product.

While you may notice quite a difference in price for organic Argan oil when compared to these other additive filled versions – because of the extremely high quality of this oil in its pure state, a little organic Moroccon Argan oil goes a Looooonnnnggg way.  This makes it not all that pricey after all!

Sevani Uses Licorice Root As A Tasty Treat For The Skin

When many of us think of licorice those yummy strings of red and black candy are what often come to mind, but there is much more to licorice, especially with regards to beauty.

Used in Ayurvedic medicine as a treatment for inflammation, burns, wounds and other general skin problems for many years, licorice is very soothing to dry or irritated skin.  These same properties have made licorice an excellent acne treatment as well.

Glabridin ~ Glabridin is an incredible skin whitening agent.  It is enormously helpful in decreasing melanin production and re-balancing the dermal cells.  The Glabridin in Licorice root does all this gently too; unlike other chemical skin brighteners.  These properties help make licorice root ideal for use under the eyes where pigment exists, and is often unwanted – at least in such high doses!

Glabrene ~ Glabrene has been found to be a potent anti-oxidant and appears to be just as powerful as natural Vitamin E.

Licochalcone ~ Licochalcone offers amazingly effective anti-acne properties like the regulation of oil production as well as the elimination of bacteria on the skin. It also helps to soothe Rosacea & acne-prone skin helping to make licorice root the perfect ingredient for calming allergy prone and/or sensitive skin types.

Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate ~ Steryl Glycyrrhetinate provides soothing anti-inflammatory benefits, which are needed by those with Rosacea, acne, and sensitive skin to help curb redness and reduce the effects of these conditions oveall.

Butylene And Propylene Glycol – Two Common Skin Care Ingredients Sevani NEVER Uses

Propylene Glycol And Butelyene Glycol As Skin Care IngredientsToday, there are some skin care ingredients that while commonly used in a wide variety of beauty products available on the market, are still quite controversial.  High on this list -  Butylene Glycol and Propylene Glycol

Butylene Glycol serves as a humectant and is used by formulators to help hydrate your skin while Propylene Glycol is used as a stabilizer and binds products that contain both oil and water (almost all beauty products!) maintain a homogenous constituency instead of letting them separate as oil and water naturally want to otherwise.

On the surface, these products seem great and are of course very useful as far as creating skin care formulations.  This has made them incredibly popular and in fact, you’ll be hard pressed to find a beauty product withOUT Butylene and Propylene Glycol; unless you choose Sevani!

We don’t use either Butylene Glycol or Propylene Glycol in ANY of our formulations and we never will!

You see, several highly reliable sources claim that both Butylene and Propylene Glycol are  carcinogens, or chemicals that have been found to cause cancer.  And,  there’s no denying the list of “possible side effects” associated with these ingredients including skin irritation, contact dermatitis, and even urticaria; the presence of too many mast cells in the skin.

The cosmetics companies that use these ingredients justify their safety by saying that since the FDA approved them and they’re used in relatively low concentrations these problems won’t be an issue,.  Yet, many users, especially those with sensitive skin, often find that products with chemicals like Propylene and Butylene Glycol in them DO cause skin reactions and irritations that would suggest otherwise.

There’s no reason to even deal with “controversial” ingredients like these though when there are skin care manufacturers like Sevani that are 100% natural!  We never include ingredients like Butylenes or Propylenes in our products.  And, in fact, we’ve got an entire page on our site devoted to all the natural skin care ingredients we DO use so you can learn more about how we make Sevani positively pure AND positively powerful!
