Reiki And An Aesthetician – A Natural Fit
Being a licensed Aesthetician, I am constantly working with my hands. Whether it’s providing treatments to my clients, developing organic skin care blends, or taking care of the day to day needs of my business, my hands are my bread and butter. I have the utmost respect for the hands and what they can accomplish in a days time.
Naturally, given my life experiences, when I learned of Reiki (also known as palm healing) many years ago, I was intrigued. Reiki is both a healing art and a spiritual practice. Reiki practitioners tap into the healing energy flow (also known as qi/chi/ch’i), and transfer it to those who are ill through the touch of their hands and breath.
This healing energy is present in all living things. In fact, using this energetic presence when working with my clients has become a large driving factor in my personal career as a licensed aesthetician. My belief and experience with this special life force is also why I chose to develop my own certified organic and cruelty free line of skin care products.
All beings are equal when it comes to the energy flow; its what binds all of us living things together. In my opinion, using certified organic and certified cruelty free products of any kind is important in respecting this reality during my brief stay here on this lovely planet. The fact that this sacred energy is present in all living beings is also why Reiki is an effective healing tool for humans, animals and even plants.
Although I am not a certified Reiki practitioner, it has not stopped me from using Reiki in my own life with great success. I also receive Reiki treatments from wonderful providers to help me with my own conditions and sensitivities.
You can read one of my stories about using Reiki to help my cat recover (quite miraculously actually) from surgery here, and, as time goes on, I will post even more stories about the healing power or Reiki in both two legged and four legged creatures as it never ceases to amaze me! And, if you have a story about Reiki you’d like to share, please leave me a comment here on the blog!
