Non GMO Foods, Non GMO Skin Care: Say NO to Monsanto!

On our quest to create 100% natural skin care products, we of course had to be sure to avoid GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) ingredients.  GMO foods, also knows as “franken foods” are from  plants grown from seeds that have been manipulated in some way or another in a lab to have certain seemingly “beneficial” qualities the seeds and plants wouldn’t have had naturally.

One of the most well known genetically modified plants is “Round Up Ready Alfalfa”, created by Monsanto.  Monsanto is an agriculture company and they are one of the biggest players in the GMO business.  In the case of the alfalfa mentioned above, they manipulated the genetics of alfalfa seeds to contain the popular synthetic pesticide “Round Up” and fight pests from the get go.

This all sounds great and fine and wonderful right?  Not so much.

What happens to the natural alfalfa seeds?

What happens to the alfalfa crop of the farmer down the road that doesn’t want their land and plants contaminated with GMO pollens?

What happens to people who aren’t too sure GMOs are the right way to go and want to avoid eating these crops?

No one really knows the answers to these questions or all the others GMOs raise, and that’s scary.  Genetically modified seeds and plants are a fairly new issue, the long term consequences of which are unknown and seem potentially quite dangerous.  At Sevani we say, better safe than sorry!

We have worked hard to be sure not to include GMOs in Sevani skin care products.  We don’t want our products contaminated with these artificial ingredients, our customers to have to deal with the potential consequences, nor do we want have any money going to support these companies creating GMO seeds/plants/products.

Not only that, whenever we find the opportunity, we make our position heard and say NO to Monsanto and their fellow GMO cronies – and we encourage you to do the same.

We also encourage our clients and customers to buy Organic, Non GMO skin care products, foods, seeds, and other types of products that work hard to avoid GMOs.  Its another way you can speak your mind – with your money!

Keep our plant and flower kingdom safe!  Avoid GMO products of all kinds and STOP Monsanto and GMO farming!
