How Herbs and Some Reiki Made our Christmas so Special!

My husband and I  have made a tradition of getting away and spending this sacred time alone.  It gives us something to look forward to after a busy retail season.  This year something felt “off” about planning a trip.  I felt the need to listen to my intuition.  And I am glad I did…..

Last month we rescued another kitty.  Gertrude came to us with some health issues.   We have had a few challenging weeks here as 3 of 4 kitties have suffered with various ailments. Just last week our tortoiseshell calico (pictured) was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor on her leg.  She had it surgically removed, yet within an hour of being home she managed to get both the collar and bandage off.   A few days later she had ripped her stitches out and the wound was open and bleeding.  We made numerous attempts to wrap her boo boo back up and get her collar on and each and every time both ended up off.  She is a magician!  We knew we had to watch her closely to prevent infection.

Christmas Eve we isolated her and cleaned her  wound and applied some triple antibiotic ointment.  Of course she licked that off too. I later added arnica and hypericum to her water.   I said “all I want for Christmas is for our kitties and family to be healthy”.  At 5:30 am she awoke me with a bleeding inflamed paw and she snuggled alongside me.  My heart ached for her.
I immediately began to do Reiki and quietly chanted over and over how I needed this bleeding wound to heal.  We both fell asleep.
By mid-morning I lied her down and examined her paw, to find it was no longer bleeding, red or inflamed and appeared smaller and to be closing up on it’s own.  It seemed a miracle!  What a beautiful Christmas present!   The other girls are getting their probiotics and homeopathic treatments and seem to be getting better daily too.

Who knows what tomorrow brings…..but for now we will take the peace and calm that Christmas and some Reiki and herbs have gifted us with.  Thank goodness I followed my intuition, and did not go away this year.
There was good reason we had to be home and we are just thrilled.
