Anti-Aging Eye Care Tips
It has been said time and again that the eyes are the windows to the soul. The eye area often shows signs of aging as a result of elasticity loss as we age. The good news? Even an older woman can still look vibrant and beautiful if she has bright and well-cared-for eyes. It is important to understand that this is the thinnest skin on the entire body, which means it requires tender touch AND special products selected specifically for this delicate tissue. Here are some tips to help you care for your eye area to prevent aging and other skin damage:
- Before you go to bed at night, make sure that you remove all makeup from your face–including your eye area. Gently remove all traces of eyeshadow, mascara and eyeliner. Make sure you use a gentle all-natural cleanser or gentle toner with Rose.
- Always use the most gentle pressure around the eye area. The ring finger has more padding then others so gently tap or lightly apply your products into the area working from outer corner to inner corner. Never pull or drag the skin with harsh pressure.
- Make it a point to always soothe your eyes when they get tired. One good way to relax the eyes is to get a couple of cotton pads, dip them into soothing botanicals such as Sevani Rose and Hyaluronic toner and place them on your closed eyes for about 10 minutes.
- If dark circles under your eyes are a constant problem, use natural ingredients in your eye cream such as licorice root and peptides on these areas. Rose will also assist in strengthening the leaking blood vessels. Another reason to do the compresses.
- To protect the skin of this area utilize natures high powered antioxidant of CoQ10. CoQ10 will also firm and tighten the tissue improving elasticity.
- Eat a healthy diet. To make your eyes brighter and more lovely, it’s also important that you incorporate certain foods into your diet. Foods rich in essential fatty acids, vitamin C and antioxidants like salmon, fruits and green tea are examples of foods that can improve the health of your eyes. These ingredients are also found in high quality natural skin care.
- Get plenty or sleep at night. A good nights rest is essential for overall health and beauty. When someone appears sleep deprived where do you notice this first? You got it, the eye area. Make sure to sleep at least 7 hours per night, preferably 8 or nap as needed.
- Sun damage also contributes to premature aging of the skin. Wearing sunglasses along with a natural SPF sunscreen daily will protect and prevent the skin of the eyes from future damage.
- Always use eye creams and eye products that are made from all-natural carefully selected ingredients for the eye area.
