Just Breathe – It’s Good for Your Sanity and Your Skin!
Maybe someone has said it to you in the heat of the moment, maybe you’ve said it to yourself – but – there’s a reason the most frequently given piece of advice when things get intense is to “Just Breathe”. Deep breathing is good for you; and not just when you’re feeling a bit stressed. Regular deep breathing, as done in yoga or meditation sessions for example, provides you with a wide variety of benefits for your entire body, and is also recommended as a natural skin care remedy.
A few of the benefits regular deep breathing can provide include –
~ Better, more restful sleep results from regular deep breathing, which, in turn, provides a more rejuvenated appearance to the skin overall, as well as naturally decreases dark circles and under eye bags.
~ Improved air flow from deep breathing exercises is a beneficial side effect that isn’t just experienced during your yoga or meditation session; it’s experienced the entire day. And, the more healthy, oxygenated blood flowing through your body also slows the aging process by reducing the amount of free radicals and cleansing the body of toxins.
~ A more positive mood is almost always one of the changes people who begin to practice deep breathing report experiencing. When you’re happy and feeling good, it shows. You’re positive vibes will radiate from you’re entire being and you’ll look naturally beautiful as a result.
~ They don’t recommend you “Just Breathe” when feeling stressed for no reason. Those who participate regularly in deep breathing exercises of some form or another show lowered levels of cortisol and lactate which are two of the chemicals the body has been found to release when feeling stressed These chemicals and others released as a result of stress lower skin’s resistance to toxins and affects the tone and evenness of your complexion as well. It goes without saying then that the less you experience the release of these chemicals, the better it is for your skin and deep breathing can make it happen.
It’s never too late to start. Begin your regular deep breathing practice today and see results in your skin and your whole body almost immediately!
